The design provides a large lightweight steel framed and unobstructed warehouse volume akin to mass-marketed prefabricated shed systems, which responds to the various work methods and production of the firm, whilst providing accommodation for storage, services, work and meeting tables and chairs and a sofa for thinking and relaxing in.
The rear of the building provides a service backbone for the firm, accommodating a toilet, kitchen and large amount of storage, all concealed behind a series of seamless large sliding panels. This rear section of the building steps down in height addressing potential bulk and scale concerns to adjoining properties. The construction embraces utilitarian materials and methods - concrete slabs providing a heat sink for its south facing orientation, unadorned concrete block walls, corrugated zincalume panels, fibre cement sheeting and other prefabricated systems such as insulated ceiling panels and warehouse shelving for storage.
