The project of modernization and completion of the Montesanto station responds to two requirements: the transformation and the redistribution of the space to create a modern multimodal hub (regional transport and subways), and the urban requalification of the surrounding district (historical center of Naples). The project uses the old building, giving it some modern touches for a renewed identity: the central metallic and glass structure, inserted between two laterals buildings, becomes the witness of the idea that « the city enters the station and the station enters the city ».
