Frank Fusaro joined the firm in 1997 as a Senior Associate and became a Partner in April 2004. He recently served as the Partner-in-Charge for the exterior and interior design of the Dream Downtown Hotel in West Chelsea, New York, a renovation and redesign of the Annex to the National Maritime Union. The new 316 room hotel includes two restaurants, cellar roof lounge and 10,000 square feet of lobby and exterior public space. Other completed projects include The Ritz-Carlton Downtown, a 600,000 square foot mixed-use development in Battery Park City; Millennium Place, The Millennium Residences, the first LEED Gold residential building in New York City; a two-building mixed-use project on the southern corner of Boston Common; 505 Greenwich Street, a 14-story, residential building; 255 Hudson Street, an 11-story residential building; 40 Bond Street, an 11-story luxury residential building in association with Herzog & DeMeuron; and the 400-room Trump SOHO Hotel. Mr. Fusaro is presently designing a new boutique concept hotel in New York City and two residential buildings on the Upper West Side. Mr Fusaro is the Partner –in- Charge of the new Miami Art Museum, another association with Herzog & DeMeuron, as well as Grace Farms Foundation, a Community Center in New Canann, Connecticut with SANAA, and the renovation and restoration of Pier 57 in New York City. Mr. Fusaro’s projects have received recognition from the American Institute of Architects, The Society of Registered Architects of New York and have been published in Architectural Record, Interior Design, The Wall Street Journal, Surface and Hotel Business. Prior to joining Handel Architects, Mr. Fusaro spent eleven years at Buttrick, White & Burtis Architects where he held dual responsibilities as Project Designer and Project Architect on a variety of institutional and commercial projects, including a series of renovations at Fordham University’s Lincoln Center Campus. His work for the Chapin and Trinity Schools in Manhattan included the renovation and additions to each respective school’s classrooms, gymnasium, laboratories, and art studios. Mr. Fusaro holds a Bachelor of Science in Architecture from the Ohio State University, and earned his Master of Architecture from the University of Texas School of Architecture and Environmental Design. He is a member of the American Institute of Architects, NCARB, and is a licensed architect in New York.
